Waireporepo marae is located near Te Whaiti, 15 km southeast of Murupara off Minginui Road (SH38). The primary iwi is Ngāti Whare.
There is currently no whare on this site, only an urupā. The pouhaki (flagpole) is stored at Lake House, Rotorua, and is undergoing restoration. The marae connects ancestrally to the waka Mataatua.
