Te Rongoroa marae is located in Ongarue, 500 m south of Orangarue School on Bennett Road. The primary hapū are Ngāti Raerae and Ngāti Rora of the iwi Ngāti Maniapoto (with affiliation to Ngāti Tūwharetoa).
The wharenui is called Ko Uemaeroa; it was opened in December 1907. The marae connects ancestrally to the waka Tainui, the maunga Noria and the awa Ongarue.
